Custom Wall Art
Client: Confidential tech company
Role: Graphic design, concept development, fabrication oversight
For an LA based client, a custom wall art installation was requested that alludes to the beauty and fun behind an artist's process.
With no specification for composition, my solution was to illustrate an art piece in two phases - across two locations within the building. Phase 1: "The Process" - highlights the sketching process & research studies an artist may do prior to taking on the final piece. Printed on watercolor paper with a deckled edge, this design is meant to be treated like the inside of the artist's sketchbook.
Which brings me to Phase 2: "The Final Piece." Printed across t layers of acrylic for depth, this piece reveals the fruition of the artist's studies, meant to be treated as a gallery level design. In total this design was installed across 5 surfaces: The first being a mural painted on the base wall, the remaining 4 being the 1st & 2nd surface of two stacked acrylic sheets, spaced out with the use of dowels.
Using the building location for inspiration, the overall design takes after a local reserve, detailing studies of the types of wildlife and plants that can be found within the area.
